I loved being able to see the whole team (including Floor Nineteen) get to sail the ocean blue and save the world together, while also discovering and getting more insight into a lot of their backstories as well. The Magnus crew has some of my favorite characters in the whole Riordan universe. I love, love, love Magnus and his sarcasm and outlook on situations. It was still a super entertaining and funny adventure emphasizing the characters’ strong friendship and bravery. But anyway, it was more or less the same sequence of events as all of his other books, nothing new: a quest leading to certain things needed to be done in order to get a certain item or something to defeat the enemy before the looming deadline. I’m a fan of anything Riordan writes, so I’m probably super biased with any Riordan book I review. Magnus Chase and his friends must find a way to stop the god of trickery before its too late and doomsday brings destruction to all the Nine Worlds. Time is up, and Loki is gathering a crew of the undead and giants aboard his ship Naglfar to set sail and start Ragnarok. The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan (review & book talk)
